The Off To Work Event Photography Awards have used the postponement of their annual awards events due to Covid-19, as a fantastic opportunity to create an online judging platform! The platform is open to all and will result in the newly created People’s Choice Awards!
Once you have signed up to judge, you will get to have your say across twelve different categories, which will be released for judging in four sets of three. Categories range from Behind the Scenes photography to Corporate Events, Weddings and Sporting Events! Judges will be able to choose their top five photos in each category in order of preference. For their involvement, they will entered into a competition to win one of four pairs of tickets to the physical awards event, which is going to be held at No. 4 Hamilton Place in Mayfair.
EPA Director, Graham Hill, says: “The quality of entries this year is as high as ever, while entrants were up 50% year-on-year. Over 1,300 photos have been whittled down to 20-40 images per category, which are being assessed by our esteemed panel of the judges for the official awards. However, with time now on our side, we wanted eventprofs and the public in general to also have the chance to enjoy and judge them, leading to the People’s Choice Awards. It will be fascinating to see how closely the results correlate.”
Founder of the Event Photography Awards and MD of Off To Work, Philip Atkins, continues: “At this challenging time we all look back at and publicise photographs of past events, looking forward to when the industry can come out of this enforced hibernation. Indeed the importance of great photography with its ability to capture the energy and essence of events, amplifying their messages and justifying their budgets, has never been so evident. We hope this exciting new public voting platform will highlight the excellence and importance of the events industry, along with the exceptional photographers that work within it, to a wide and appreciative audience.”
