This is the 7th year of the annual Off to Work Event Photography Awards 2020 competition. Claire was one of the competitions esteemed judges and so we are delighted to be celebrating the shortlist weekly on our website!

The shortlists for the fifteen core categories  are being released on social media on a daily basis over three working weeks. The winners will be announced during a virtual ceremony streamed on Thursday 12th November.

Competition founder and managing director of event staffing agency Off to Work commented:

“I am delighted and proud to be releasing the shortlists for this year’s Event Photography Awards, which I hope will go some way to support our wonderful industry at this incredibly difficult time for so many. The awards show the truly amazing experiences and moments that events deliver and, most importantly, highlight the amazing ecosystem that makes them come together. To all the suppliers, organisers, and of course the wonderful photographers who capture their work, you deserve huge praise and support.”

EPA Competition Director, Graham Hill, commented:

“The competition attracted some 2,000 photos this year, which were whittled down to long-lists of 20-40 shots in the fifteen categories. These were then judged by an array of industry leaders, resulting is a quite superb selection of shortlisted shots, that not only highlight the importance of events to commerce, but also to the fabric of society as a whole.”

Behind the Scenes

The first category released was ‘Behind the Scenes’, sponsored by Visions Group. Always illuminating and insightful, this is a category for purists, highlighting the expertise, equipment, exactitude and shear hard work that goes into producing amazing events.

Catering

Next up, was the delicious ‘Catering’ category, sponsored by Blue Strawberry. Inspiring as well as mouth-watering, food and drink is invariably central to a successful event, as is how it’s served and indeed created back in the kitchen…

Trade Shows & Exhibitions

‘Trade Shows & Exhibitions’ was the third category of the week. Sponsored by Pertons Signs, the category was released to coincide with the last of The Meetings Show, which has been recreated virtually in response to the current situation

Fashion Events

The ‘Fashion Events’ category, sponsored by Platinum, is released on the penultimate day of the week. This debut category sees some stunning shots from both the catwalk and dressing room, including an incredible four from Laura De Meo…!

Weddings

To finish the week, the shortlisted photographs for the ‘Weddings’ category, sponsored by No.4 Hamilton Place, were released! Get ready for romance, family fun and maybe even some teary-eyed reminiscences in this hugely popular category.

What a week of beautiful photography – we can’t wait to see what next week’s shortlists hold!
