As part of our International Women’s Month programme in collaboration with HBAA we were delighted to invite events professionals from the next generation to share their perspectives this week. We met online with Jade Clark (The Telegraph), Georgia Cross (Cheerful Twentyfirst), Benedicta Asante (Events 101) and Beckie Towle (Events Raccoon) in a discussion facilitated by Amelia Brown (EVCOM).

They began the session by talking about their journeys into the events sector, and what had drawn them to the industry. All of them agreed that people, and making connections with people, were so much a part of the magic of events. They also talked about the moment an idea comes to life, from post-it to complete realisation! We spoke to each of them about some of the key issues affecting this industry, including creativity, diversity, gender equality, youth engagement and sustainability. We discussed the impact of lockdown on the industry and their own job roles, and talked about the change that they wanted to see in the industry.

It was a pleasure to discuss the events industry with all of them, and hear their invaluable perspectives!
