Courtney says, “The Realise Award mentorship scheme has been a huge benefit to me and has helped me through one of the most important years of my life. 2023 saw me finish my degree, graduate my degree and get a graduate job, I truly believe the mentorship sessions helped me achieve all of this.
My first mentorship session was with Phil from TFI Lodestar, this was while I was just starting my dissertation and looking into what type of career I wanted to do when graduating. Phil invited me to London to oversee one of his events, this gave me a great insight into this part of the industry, a part that I wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to learn about.
My second mentorship was with Erica from Bloomberg. At this point I was very close to my deadlines for dissertation and finishing uni so getting my CV shining was top priority. Erica gave me some great tips on ensuring my CV was shining ready for employers, and she also checked it over and showed me some great examples. Thanks to this, I successfully got a graduate role and had a couple more interviews too.
My third mentorship was with the lovely Anna from Broadsword. She helped me so much with dealing with work life balance and stress at work, which has helped me manage my everyday tasks.
My final mentorship was with Rosie from NexGen and we focused on sales techniques and career progression which will be super helpful to set me up for the year ahead.
All my mentors have been an absolute blessing and have helped me so much with the stress of finishing university and finding a graduate role. I feel much more prepared and confident in myself since working with them all.”
