What does the entry process involve?

With each entry, you may submit up to five films or supporting materials. You’ll then be asked to respond to the following questions – each with a maximum of 200 words. Please take time to craft your answers thoughtfully, as they form a significant part of the judging criteria.

These questions apply to all categories except for Agency of the Year and Rising Star Talent. Please refer to the specific entry guidance for those categories below.

Your Entry Questions

  1. Let’s start at the beginning.
What was the objective of your project? Why was it created? Tell us about the brief, your approach, and how you set out to meet the challenge.

  1. Help us get into the detail.
Share the specifics. What were the key elements and how were they brought together? Let us understand the size, scope, complexity, and context (including any challenges). What was it like for your team to work on?

  1. Let’s talk creativity and innovation.
How did creativity lead the way? What was the big idea or creative thread? What made this project stand out? If you tackled challenges with innovative solutions, tell us how.

  1. The difference it made.
Tell us about the project’s legacy. What was the impact—on your audience, clients, or wider sector? Include ROI, ROO, and other meaningful outcomes where possible—or share the intended impact if outcomes aren’t yet measurable.

Important: Please do not include your name or agency name in your answers or branding in supporting materials. Anonymity is key to fair judging.

  1. Support

  1. The Impact
What’s the real-world effect of your agency’s culture—on individuals, the wider team, and your business performance? If available, include staff retention rates, testimonials, or client feedback.

Frequently Asked Questions:

I’m not sure which category to enter.
No problem—email us and we’ll happily help you decide. A good rule of thumb: enter the category you most want to win. Many projects succeed across multiple categories—so don’t be afraid to enter more than one.

Contact: natasha.martin@evcom.org.uk

My client is awards-shy—what should I do?
That’s fine. If you’d prefer judges not see the client’s name, leave it blank on the form. If they must know (in confidence), include the name followed by ‘Anonymous’—we’ll ensure it’s removed from public comms or trophies.

Can I submit a whole film series as one entry?
Yes—as long as it’s no more than five short films. Choose the strongest if the series is longer. Judges will score the overall body of work.

The project I want to enter was delivered in summer 2024. Is it still eligible?
Yes! Projects delivered between 3rd July 2024 and 5th July 2025 are eligible.

Do I need to be an EVCOM member to enter?
No—you don’t have to be a member. But members receive a significant discount on entry fees. Learn more about EVCOM Membership [here].

Where can I view past winning work?
Visit our Video Hub for examples of previous winning entries. Get inspired and see what makes a standout submission.
