Fast-growing, award-winning, live events agency seeks talented and ambitious Account Director to drive one of the agency’s key global accounts.
Account Director, central London.
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Location: Initially home-based, then based in the heart of London’s West End.

To continue this success we now need to appoint an Account Director.
You’ll be overseeing your own account team, and be directing the strategy of different internal teams (video, graphics, content, creative, logistics and production) to conceive, plan and deliver exceptionally high standard communications projects for your clients with a specific focus on the delivery of compelling content & messaging. Your focus will be on working closely with our Professional Services clients with a key focus on account development, client support and forward-planning.
Key responsibilities –
Account Direction
- Heading up a number of the agency’s largest accounts in Professional Services to drive successful client relationships and revenue within the account. Supporting other key accounts across different industries.
- Developing complex digital communication plans and online strategies that optimise audience engagement.
- Proposing a range of technical and production solutions to the client in line with strategy and objectives.
- Leading on event strategy and creative solutions for all projects.
- Leading on industry knowledge and relevant strategy for the account in developing their offering and solutions.
- Demonstrate a true understanding of account development plans and forecasts for growth.
- Management of the account team across your event portfolio including managing project progression where needed.
- Leading on new client briefs and proposals for events within your portfolio.
- Account management and development of client opportunities to expand our relationship.
- Drive the events team to maximise all potential revenue opportunities including upselling opportunities throughout the event cycle.
Data and Reporting
- Quarterly account reporting on revenue, successes and other metrics and KPIs.
- Financial reporting against resource, overheads and agency time.
- Reporting to the SLT on account revenue, forecasts and opportunities.
- Reporting on upcoming resource requirements and identifying areas of growth and investment for the accounts.
- Data and reporting from all client events and campaigns to manage future developments in best practice for online solutions.
Strategy and Communications
- Developing innovative digital solutions for all virtual programmes, across a multitude of channels.
- Designing complex campaigns for a range of client challenges.
- Align with company objectives to define strategy, growth and creativity around services and delivery.
- Attendance at industry events, networking events and industry shows to represent Cheerful Twentyfirst.
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional communication skills: able to develop and maintain excellent personal relationships with senior clients and external stakeholders
- A strategic outlook with consideration for client objectives and online performance intrinsically written into every decision.
- A problem solver – curious in nature and able to independently offer solutions to problems
- Analytical with a high attention to detail and able to spot trends and glean insights from raw data.
Qualifications and Experience
- 6-7 years minimum experience in account development in a communications or brand experience agency environment.
- Tangible examples of communication campaigns with reporting metrics and measurement of audience engagement and campaign reach.
- In-depth understanding of online audiences’ behaviour, needs and changing trends.
- Proven experience of developing and managing strategic communication plans.
- Exceptional financial planning skills.
- Commercial awareness in industry and across wider business management areas.
- An awesome attitude that always finds possibilities and solutions.
- A strong understanding of broadcasting and technical production.
The Ideal Candidate
A strategic thinker with demonstrable experience in digital and multi-channel campaign delivery. Our ideal candidate is personable, dynamic and able to drive the account forward ensuring a fully integrated client account, in turn driving revenue and maximising opportunities across the brand. Data and reporting followed by strategic insight will come naturally to the candidate as will recognising commercial opportunities and putting us at the forefront of the industry.
