This week is National Inclusion Week, which was founded by Inclusive Employers and is dedicated to celebrating inclusion and taking action to create inclusive workplaces. The theme for National Inclusion Week 2023 is Take Action Make Impact, a call to action for all in the organisation, from leaders, to I&D professionals – teams and individuals.

To mark National Inclusion Week this year, our member Brands at Work have identified five of the most common myths that surround neurodiversity, and debunked them for us! From ADHD to dyslexia, autistic spectrum disorder to OCD, neurodivergent people are often met with a lack of understanding inside and outside of the workplace. 1 in 7 people are neurodivergent in the UK, so it’s time for employers and team members to engage in the conversation, and ensure that the needs of neurodivergent people are met.

Many employers don’t currently have any strategies in place to support neurodivergent team members, despite what embracing neurodivergence could do for employee retention and creative thinking.

Thank you so much to the team at Brands At Work for sharing this brilliant resource with us!
