FROM WHEN DOES MY MEMBERSHIP START?
Our membership year runs from 1st January to 31st December. When you join you will pay pro rata in your first year, commencing on the 1st day of the month that you join. So, in February you will pay 11/12 of your annual rate, March 10/12 and so on up until September. From October – December you will pay the remainder of the current year plus the following year’s membership.
HOW LONG DOES THE APPLICATION TAKE?
Once you have returned the completed application form, we should be able to process your membership within 24 hours. Once processed, we will forward to you your exclusive EVCOM Membership number for that year, your EVCOM logo for the year and allocate you a “Board Buddy” – a member of the EVCOM Board who will be your board contact. You will also receive e-mail introduction to the EVCOM Chairperson – so two great contacts already!

IS MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL AUTOMATIC?
Yes. So from year 2 your membership will commence on 1st January and run to 31st December.
CAN I CHANGE MY MEMBERSHIP BAND?
Yes. You can do this at any time. So, for example, if you are a Freelance member and you develop your business to form a company with employees, you can upgrade your membership to a company membership which then covers everyone who works with you.
HOW CAN I PAY FOR MEMBERSHIP?
When you join you will be asked to set up a Direct Debit for your membership payment. If you are able to do this, you will save money on your membership and your renewal. Direct Debit is through Go Cardless.
I HAVE COMPANY MEMBERSHIP – WHO CAN ATTEND EVENTS?
If you have company or organisation membership (i.e. all but student membership, individual membership or freelance membership) then anyone who works for the same company as you can enter awards, attend events etc. at the member rate. Of course, any member can bring non-member guests to events but this will need to be at non-member rates.
WHAT IS A PATRON?
You can upgrade your membership to become an EVCOM Patron. As an EVCOM Patron you can:
*Display the EVCOM Patron logo
*Attend all EVCOM seminar and Breakfast meetings that cost £40 plus vat or below without charge
*Two tickets for the EVCOM Fellowship Lunch at the House of Lords each year that you are a Patron, worth over £400
*Be listed on the website as an EVCOM Patron
*Receive exclusive Patron discounts and invitations from time to time
To be a Patron currently costs £500 plus VAT per year over and above your normal membership rate. For more details contact email@example.com
WHO RECEIVES EVCOM INFO AND E-MAILS?
We are happy to send EVCOM info to anyone within your company, simply send us a list of e-mail addresses. We like to have a main contact but anyone can book places at events, enter awards etc. However, it will be the main contact only who will be able to change your members’ page on the website.
TO WHOM DO I SEND PRESS RELEASES, THOUGHT LEADERSHIP AND NEWS PIECES FOR THE WEBSITE AND NEWSLETTER?
You can upload news items to your own page on the website by logging into the member only area. For help on this and/or to obtain login details contact Sarah Malkin firstname.lastname@example.org. For newsletter items please send to Sarah.
HOW CAN I APPLY FOR OFFICIAL PRESS CARDS?
EVCOM is an official gatekeeper for the UK Press Card Association and subject to UKPCA criteria, as an EVCOM member any member of your staff who fulfils this criteria may apply for UKPCA Press Cards. There is a small admin fee for this and applications must be partnered with a copy of your passport or driving license. Your UKPCA Press Card will only be valid whilst your EVCOM Membership remains up to date. For Press Card enquiries or applications please contact email@example.com EVCOM reserves the right to refuse any UKPCA Press Card application.

HOW CAN I END MY MEMBERSHIP?
Membership is ongoing unless we hear from you otherwise and you will be charged from 1st January each year. We are pleased that not many members resign their membership, but if for any reason you need to do so you must give us one month’s notice by e-mail . If you resign after 1st January (i.e. if you tell us later than 1st December the previous year), you must then pay pro rata for the part-year of membership between that date and 1 month following your notice. So, for example, if you tell us on 1 February that you do not wish to renew your membership you will be requested to pay from 1st January to the end of February – 2/12 of the annual rate – to cover the period of membership that you received. Your membership cannot close until this is paid. We do not refund part year membership.
